Goin back to Cali…(as L.L. Cool J would say) The Hyatt in Huntington Beach, California was the setting for this huge corporate event. The top executives with some of the best sales people in the company were attendance. The California weather did not disappoint either. Although most of the days were meetings inside, the nights were filled with fun dinners outside all over the great grounds of the Hyatt resort. While photographing these types of events, I am always looking for fresh angles and views to capture the feel of the event. Every event is kind of similar with the speaking formats, so I try to spice it up with a different approach every time if space permits. Sometimes I can get a shot from the balcony, or from behind the stage. I never want to be a distraction, so I can’t get too close your to direct. Trying to find little areas to sneak in or new angles for a different look is what makes every job different and keep it fun and lively for the clients and for me! It is rewarding to capture cool images from a somewhat, so called boring photo opt… But keeping it different and always looking for a new approach makes if fun for me and keeps the client wanting more. Being at these events throughout the year for the same client also makes people more comfortable. I have gotten to know some of the attendance pretty well by seeing them at these events every year. A familiar face helps them relax when they are speaking or working and they know we are photographing them. But they tune us out, as we become one of them. If your company has any photography needs, please contact me to talk about your wants and needs. We photograph conferences, award ceremonies, dinner banquets, seminars, keynote speaking events, etc.
Hope to see you at the confrence!
Here are some photos of the trip to Huntington Beach California. For client confidentiality, I have mostly site seeing pics and blurred out meeting photos.
